Yes. He came to at least one game last year, and I have seen him in the box (if you can call it that) on other occasions.

He didn't for quite a few years but he came to a couple of games last year. He sits in the AD's box and is greeted all of the way up.

For years he was playing and then coaching on the pro level. Last year he walked through the stands on the exes side to great applause. Evan the young lady sitting in front of me who then ask who Joe Greene was. Her grandfather and I quickly educated the young lass.

Ricky 'V' explains his theory of how money will appear for a stadium. Joe is skeptical.

Mean Joe would like to know why he's being arrested and handcuffed. Rick explains that it's a crime to not attend ALL of the home games each season.

His kids were in school (at UNT) in the early 90s also. I saw him around a few times back then.

I want to say that one (maybe both) of his sons were on the team.

His kids Major and Delon both played for North Texas.

Mean Joe had a long career as an assistant coach with the Steelers, Cardinals, and the Dolphins. He does now live in Flower Mound and has been to several games since he retired from coaching, I think he still does some scouting (prospect evaluations) for the Steelers, but he comes to North Texas games when he can.

Yes. Hewalked through the crowd last year and received a standing ovatation. As he walked by me I had to restrain myself from saying "Hey Mean Joe, want my Coke?" and extending my Diet Coke to him. I figured he had been beaten down enough by that the last few decades.

I'm sure he would give you a lecture on corn syrup, the obesity epidemic, and juvenile diabetes.

He was 2 seats in front of me in the "box" for Homecoming 1999. One of the few times my dad was ever excited about anything I "did" was that I got him a seat in the box near Joe Greene. I offered to get him an introduction but he said no...I think he was nervous. (My dad, not Joe ;) )

I would like to see the Joe Greene "Hey Kid" Coke commercial computer altered to have Mean Joe wearing a Green North Texas jersery. Just for fun.

Bye week...the other white meat.

GO MEAN GREEN

Somebody find me a good quality recording of the original and I'll take a crack at that challenge!

Check the blog on this site's front page. They posted it recently.

Most of the online versions out there are too poor of quality to attempt something like this. It would be best to have an original 3/4" or Beta tape to work with. Maybe if someone had an old VHS, it might be doable.

Wasn't it at the beginning of one of the many football movies made in the last 15 years or so? I think I remember seeing it when watching something quite a while back.
