Denton does really good tourism business. The Denton Chamber is really good a promoting Denton. The Chamber and their tourism/CVB staff would be a really good ally to have in the stadium "debate." The Chamber would be an excellent 3rd party source to study the value of the new stadium. That information might prove helpful to trying to persuade the students in their vote.

If your not a register Denton voter or a Chamber member your not going to have any leverage over the Chamber or Council.

Just FYI...I believe Steve Selby has retired and is no longer managing the Super Pit. I do not know if he is still involved with the Sports Commission in Denton.

SMU and TCU get coupons in Entertainment (the passport book with coupons for EVERYTHING). I mentioned it about 7 or 8 years ago but there didn't seem to be much interest. That's certainly a good way to push people to come visit Denton...I believe the Stars, Rangers, and Mavs had stuff in Entertainment back then as well. Haven't had a DFW one in a few years so I can't speak to any current trends with sports coupons. Still, we should try it and see how it goes.

I get them every year. No SMU/TCU this year. Haven't seen SMU in several years. Cowboys and Stars stuff is a joke. Not in there this year. Very little sports stuff. UTA is represented this year IIRC.
