Is Todd Dodge genuinely surprised at the results of the first two games?

If he's just acting that way because as head coach he can't publicly say how overmatched we are, that's one thing (although that never stopped DD).

However if he's truly surprised how overmatched we were, then we have a problem. It's one thing for a coach to know or say his team could've played better. It's absolutely another thing to act as though he's not sure why we got beat so bad.

I can't figure out which one Dodge his, I hope the former.

It's going to take time under any coach and system, I understand that. But deep down i gotta know that the coach knows what he's doing and where he's going and i haven't exactly figured that out with Dodge yet. Then again, losing makes one question everything.

On to LSU......ugh.

that was the conversation in my part of the stands - his players look lost out there. I know things often get ugly before they get better, but I hope Dodge knows his gameplan, continues to believe it will work, and will get the players to execute it. Its not that you don't make adjustments, but the worse thing for us UNT fans is a Dodge who starts to lose faith in his system.

June Jones went 0-12 in Hawaii, had 4 wins seasons, had 7 win seasons had 12-0 season and they didn't ramp up easily going up and down over that span. Yet he stayed true to the June Jones system and got the players to execute it. it is coming to SMU and I can only hope Dodge can recruit statewide and nationally to get the guns to make this system fly.

beat Ike!

I don't think Dodge was surprised. He said in the Dog Pound meeting that this would be a very tough game.

Tulsa isn't exactly a cakewalk team for anyone. Just to put this into perspective. So yeah. Besides, aside from Rice, the OOC schedule isn't anything close to guaranteed. Even the Rice game isn't a guaranteed win. We all know that.

This team is not going to beat Rice. They will probably score at will throughout the game. This team will probably not win more than 3 games this season.

Not surprised that it was a tough game, everyone knew that. He sounds surprised that what he wants to do isn't working. Big difference.

From what I have seen so far, with secondary play, I think 3 wins is pretty generous.

I guess it is more of a hope at this point. 3 wins would mean we are a little better than last year. I think we can beat FIU and WKY, and maybe one we are not supposed to win.

I sure did enjoy watching DeLoach coach last night.
