I didn't realize the broadcast on ch. 21 was a "North Texas" broadcast. The intro was pretty cool, the sideline reporter was wearing a UNT shirt, the color commentator was a former player, our logo was on the screen and most of the advertising was from Denton and surrounding areas with a a lot of Mean Green visibility. I saw someone on here complain about it but this seems like a huge step forward for us of this is something we're going to see more of. I know it wasn't on ESPN HD, but I was impressed.

To have the game on locally and still have over 22,000 there was pretty good.

One thing I'd like to see, and maybe this has been brought up before.

I really wish we could get a big green tarp with our logo on it to put in the end zones, not sell any tickets there and push those fans in both end zones to the stands. At least on TV, it would "look" better. Other than that, the stadium looked great.

After what they saw last night you could put that tarp over 3/4 of the student section.

I am glad we got a home broadcast BUT could they find a sideline reporter that can actually speak. He really sounded unprepared and almost scared. At least he had a mean green shirt on! WOW this guy is bad, I am watching the halftime show they they together. My high school sideline reporters in my Media Tech class sound better than this guy!

Hey, lets just take what we can get. If the AD department was running the broadcast that would have really been terrible and then I wouldn't mind complaining. It sad that it comes down to "taking what we can get" but that's what this "ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT" has conditioned us to expect. I think they should let my major, recreation and leisure studies, students run the show. I'm pretty sure we would do better. It wouldn't be that hard...

Halftime broadcast was terrible. It was clear the guy was a little tipsy and was struggling with his thoughts. Atleast that was the one thing to watch for entertainment last night.

I am tired of 'taking what we can get' with this thing...

I am stoked we even have a station covering our games but the people over at TXA that hired the sideline guy need to realize how bad he SUCKED. I used to work for TXA and CBS up until about 2 months ago. I am surprised this dude made the air with the talent they have in the ranks at the station. If TXA was not in charge of coming up with the personalities then my apologies... but DAMN the dude had NO clue what he was doing!

I would have agreed with you until I found it impossible for my daughter to see anything while sitting in the student section. It never occurred to me that she was going to get lost in the crowd when everybody around her, being considerably taller, was standing up most of the time. She got pretty frustrated with that and started crying. The endzone was a great refuge, and I wasn't alone out there. There were quite a few families with smaller children.

Student sections just aren't good for children. You discovered that they stand for the entire game, which is a good thing. There is also quite a bit of salty language, as there are very few adults around them.

As an adult student, I've never sat on the student side for football.

I reviewed the broadcast today. Very good booth guys, IMHO. Good graphics as well. It's great that we have a branded broadcast of UNT football games.

Just that sideline reporter... he needs to go.

Might be Dave Knobler, but I have not been able to find a picture to verify it. Its sad that this guy was the best they could muster, you could have gotten the same performance out of a drunken student pulled from the parking lot. Watching that buffoon interact with a buzzed Dr. B may have been the highlight of the evening for me.
