The title of "America's Team" is not self-proclaimed. It was coined by NFL flims in the late 70's. Fans of the 31 other teams in the league often throw out that same proclamation, but there is no denying that the Cowboys are tbe most watched/discussed/all around popular team in the NFL. Just check merchandise sales or TV ratings. You're right that many Cowboys fans are pompous know-it-alls but when you consider the sheer number of them out there thats just bound to happen.

I don't like the Cowboys...in fact I'm pretty appathetic to the NFL in general. I was going only for a Sean Taylor death joke with no team bias what-so-ever.

I spent all of last season writing a (crappy) column making fun of stupid Cowboys fans called "TY the Cowboy Homer." I mock people who root for the Cowboys at non-Cowboys events (we had a solid Tony Romo fan contingent in the student section Saturday night.) I posted a Redskins article from Kissing Suzy Kolber written by a fake Sean Taylor proclaiming that his death was an April Fool's joke and you told me I was sick, f*ed up and deserved to die. The thread was deleted - otherwise I'd link back to it.

Since CBL made the same joke, I just hit the time machine backwards and had a chuckle about it.

Now let's go hold hands and build a stadium - pretty please?
