Interesting. Jones says we might have a 2 point guard set up at times using White and Johnson. That's a pretty small line up, but as we know with White (ask U. of Texas) his size doesn't really matter. He shoots lights out. The real question is does Johnson have the same kind of play as White despite his small frame? You can find the article here.

Size may not matter offensively, even that statement is highly questionable, but it matters a lot on defense. Hopefully when JJ says he will use this lineup "at times" he will be very selective in choosing those times.

As good as Josh White was last year when it got later into the season teams appeared to figure out how to defend against him when he drove to the basket. Just stick out their arms and it was almost like a net that he would have to jump through to get off a shot. Seemed he had to drive then pass or take his shots more from mid-range or 3pt line. JJ is a good coach and I'm sure that line up will give some teams the fits, especially if Johnson does well. My $0.02...

I like that JJ recognizes that Josh still needs work to be a true on the ball point guard. I think in the right stretches a White-Johnson backcourt could be really effective if the "3" is McCoy or Thompson...I'd be very weary of a tiny Johnson-Dennis-White 3 guard line-up.

I expect most of our scoring to come from the backcourt. I hope White is coming along as a point b/c he will be primarily responsible for setting up Dennis.

Ya know, this early pre-season talk has got me excited about the start of our season in November!! A return to the Pit Crew with all of our pesky and heckling ways to watch a now frequently winning team, especially at home.... November can't come soon enough!
