I think that some of the concern that seems urgent here is because of what may soon happen.

The new stadium, I hope, is a fait accompli. Even then, there needs to be continued support and new donors found. That won't happen with a passing version of Dickey's running teams although I do think that it's more fun to watch. Wins are at a premium right now more than any other time in our history. They are necessary to expand our fan base. We need 10,000 minimum in season ticket sales to retire stadium bonds. Winning games, not just conference games, can accomplish that.

Conference changes are probably not more than a few years away; possibly even less. We need to be ready. I would hope that we might have a place in a "new Southwest Conference" but if that's not possible then at least something equal or superior to the SBC when realignment comes. In our case I believe that our attendance averages at least 5,000 more playing colleges in the adjoining states than in schools a thousand miles away.

We are also in a battle for becoming the Metroplex team of college sports. We do that by winning. TCU does that now and is really the Metroplex team in spite of the smallest student body and alumni base. Yes, I know that If we are to grow the program and the university we must think larger than the Metroplex but if you're #3 or even #2 it's much harder to expand.

The time for action is now and I think that we have the coaches/teams, administration, student body and alumni to make that happen. If any of those areas stays weak then we will fail. Todd Dodge will eventually lead us from this quagmire. Better sooner than later.

So, the Tulsa game just came to the end of the 3rd Qtr...and (GASP!) Tulsa is up something like 49-13. I do not care where you come from...that is an ass-whoopin!!! I am confident that by the end of the game, Tulsa will have scored 60 or more points on us...and we MAY get 3 or 7 more points.

SERIOUSLY...CAN TD COACH AT THIS LEVEL??? WAS POOR RON MENDOZA (NOT THAT I DISAGREE WITH HIM BEING FIRED) JUST A SCAPE GOAT??????

As a NT alumn, I am truly embarrassed. THANK GOD for Army, or we DEFINITELY would be the WORST team in I-A. Heck, I am QUITE confident many I-AA teams would beat the snot out of us.

I thought thus fancy-dancy offense was supposed to score points??? We have like, what, 20 points on the season thus far!>!?!?? The two games together (even before the end of the Tulsa game....and PLEASE come to and end soon!!!) is something like NT 20, everyone else 100. That is PATHETIC!!!! :angry:

Oh, but TD is a TEXAS HS FOOTBALL GOD!!! RIGHT???

Well, who GIVES A CRAP!!! Look at his performance thus far? Really, what has he done for this program?????

I am truly embarrassed...I am tired of us getting are arses beat by EVERYONE. Can we not compete AT ALL?????

Further...looks like the rest of the Sunbelt is doing ok. They are PASSING US BY!!! Even FIU (who sucks just as bad as us, but will definintely beat the snot out of us) will most likely turn it around as they can recruit in Florida.

Oh, and forget the stadium...who the hell would want to support this program?????

Someone had BETTER have some tough questions for TD. I KNEW hiring a damn HS football coach was a BAD idea. I don't care of he has a couple state championships...WHOOPDI FRICKIN' DO!!! The dude CANNOT coach at the college level!

AND...he sure did get showed up by another Texas coach. BUT, the only difference is TG has been a proven winner and CAN coach at the college level.

THIS COLLEGE NEEDS A PROVEN COLLEGE COACH!!! :angry: ENOUGH WITH THE DAMN EXPERIMENTING!!!!!!!

These worthless passing TD's once the game is over just doesn't do it for me. I expected more from our players, and most of all, our coaching staff. I realize this is still early in Dodge's career, but a 32-point deficit at halftime to TULSA is simply not acceptable. If we have another 2-win season I don't know how much longer I can back Todd Dodge.

DD won 4 sunbelt championships, then didn't perform for 2 straight years...the axe....and TD? Well, I think we should see some progress this year and he should get 3 years to make his case, then you have to question your decision....were talking sunbelt competition here.....look at the situation with RM...in my opinion he was given tooooo long and showed no positive trend...TD should have made a change mid season, perhaps we would have won a few more games last year and sure would have said something about TD making the right decisions for this program...sometimes you have to give things time; sometimes you have to cut your losses....life ain't easy.
I do thing (as of now) that TD was a good choice for UNT and will prove to be an outstanding coach at the college level, but this is still to be determined....let's hope for the best.
