---This is not about qualifications....... it is about wooing the disgruntled Hillery voters and.... the ultra-Christian right. Of course I would never say McCain is flip-flopping on his stance .... about the the issues the Ultra-right want. ...(as some are prone to say about candidates) A month ago they hated him, -- now his stance has changed a lot --- and they support him..

---He was trashing Obama as having very little experience but two years ago Obama was a U.S. Senator and had been a state Senator before that.....But McCain changes his stance ( not flip-flops, only Democrats do that ) and picks a VP that two years ago was a mayor of a town of less 7000. (about the size of Lamesa, Tx.) making sure the garbage was collected properly, and that was her highest governmental position.

---No doubt this action exibits good judgment and a consistant (not flip-flopping) stance.

That's what I'm thinking as well. There are countless other R politicians with possibly years to decades of national, military, and foreign policy experience. But Palin is really just a smokescreen candidate. Honestly, I feel extremely unsure of her abilities - far more than I do of Obama's.

What do you mean he was a Senator two years ago? He is a U.S. Senator, sworn into office in January 2005. After 143 session days... let me say that again... 143 session days... he announced he was running for President.

And? He's a great guy, has a great message, very smart, very educated. I agree and disagree with about equal amounts of Obama's and McCain's policy positions thus far, but I think they are both capable of handling what the job entails, regardless of how much I like their policy stances.

Lincoln didn't have much more experience than Obama. Some of what he "had" to do is still suspect in some circles (especially in the South, I know, I know), but he did come out of it all regarded as one of the greatest leaders in American history. A great deal of how he got where he did can be attributed to his speaking abilities.

I think you guys are missing the point of this post.

Me, I'd tap it.

Thank you JM. I would too. Evidently the crowd in here is similar to the Salina, KS crowd in the McDonalds yesterday morning. Four of us were straining as hard as we could to keep from losing it from laughter when we saw the headline. The rest of the crowd were just looking at us like we were from Texas or something? Oh wait?

We stopped at a McDonald's in Salina, Kansas to get breakfast saturday morning and saw this front page headline and nearly fell over laughing. Evidently someone at the Salina Journal has an interesting sense of humor.
