Just back from the game. Here's one photo of the Mean Green Nation tailgating party. Good to see everyone again.

Another of the overlook from inside Bill Snyder Family Stadium. Gee has it changed since the last time I was there?

Emmitt and I with the Great Derrell Daniels. Derrell was sporting his 2002 Conference Championship ring and wearing a great hat he had customized. Said "Mean Green" on the front and had an upside down green, longhorn on the back.

Overall, I felt the game went about as expected but our defense definately has that attitude we have been missing the last couple of years. They fought hard and seemed to look like they had the ability to stiffen more on the interior more than last year. Couldn't understand the continuation of miffing the kickoffs and helping the opposition to pin us deep? Seems like this happens to us every year? Then there was the two conservative run fest attempts around the ends of a speed-loaded defense that kept us going backwards. Glad we finally abandoned that plan by our third possession. We kept watching the score in the stadium of the Arkansas State game. Great to see them knock off A&M. That's two years in a row for them now playing the money dogs extremely tough on opening day. I remember back when that used to be North Texas. Hopefully, someday, those days will return for us.

I was wondering if we win the coin toss next time, if it might be a good idea to elect to kick off. I just feel that we've had a lack of confidence in receiving kickoffs and that it might send a signal to the defense that they've won some deserved respect.

I forgot to post this one. Zeke, Emmitt, Evan, Adler and myself with the FATHER OF MEAN GREEN TAILGATING, MeanRob.

As for KSU's secondary, pretty fast group. Seemed like they were everywhere even though we had some success on them, and would have had more had it not been for several drops that would have given us a few more 1st downs. Overall, they looked like the typical Big 12 secondary with speed to burn. Probably rated right where they need to be.

Not sure about Tulsa. Considering what they did to UAB yesteraday they will be another tough group to beat. Can't make the same mistakes getting pinned deep. Hopefully we will get the kinks worked out.
