...oh, neat, we're going to increase taxes on the weathiest! ($250,000 doesn't make you wealthy, but I digress...) Capital Gains Taxes, Dividend Taxes and Income Taxes on the "wealthy" means the wealthy will have less money to invest in business. Less investment in business means fewer raises and fewer jobs for the middle class.

Your Los Angeles reporter is wrong. The bridge was never funded by congress, so the money was never given to the state for that bridge. She hired a "gasp" lobbiest for her town? What does that have to do with wasteful spending? Just because a lobbiest is involved, the project isn't worth while? Really? ...and the amount of money requested by Alaska being highest per capita isn't that stragne. Most federal money is for infrastructure, and there is more infrastructure between each person in that state than in any other. Again, what's the point?

Nice try.

I have no first-hand knowledge of this bridge's funding, but I have seen multiple reports that say the money was sent to Alaska and was used on other projects. The sources I heard from were the Associated Press today, a reporter yesterday whose name I did not catch, and Susan Page, Washington bureau chief for "USA Today" this morning on the Diane Rehm radio show.

This isn't a "try" on my part. This isn't some game. I'm just trying to get some understanding of a politician with whom I was not familiar until a few days ago, a politician who has been nominated to be a heartbeat from the most powerful job on the planet. I damned well want to know the truth about her. We've had almost two years of intense campaigning to learn the truth about John McCain and Barack Obama. They have faced numerous debates and media interviews, and we've had a chance to examine them carefully. But in Palin's case, it's been left to the media to examine her record. These are fair questions.

Maybe you didn't catch the part where the MEDIA is reporting this? Most be made up.. conjecture smeared by the libs.

By the way, I was totally undecided in this race. I thought the VP picks would clear it up for me.. but it doesn't appear it has cleared up anything. It just brought up more questions.

Playing Devil's Advocate but would that not be better then if she did not waste money on a bridge to nowhere but rather spread the money out across the state??

Have not researched anything the issue other than what I have heard through various media reports that seem to all conflict.

And BTW "Oh MY GOD" a politician has stretched the truth. Surely Ye Jest!!!

Lock it down! Lock it down!

With pleasure...I'm getting really, really annoyed with this thread and others. We each have our own political, social, religious, etc. beliefs...and no one is likely going to sway the other side. Therefore, this whole thing is nothing more than "na-na-boo-boo" for both sides. After reading all of this crap, voting Libertarian doesn't sound like such a bad idea...

Best to shut it down before someone gets their feelings hurt and starts to cry.
