It seemed like from '99 to '02 during camp our offense could hardly ever move the ball on our defense, which I later learned to contribute it as a great sign for the whole team, rather than a bad one for the offense. And when I first learned of a possible chance that GD was returning I thought how nice it would be to see that again. Hopefully we are getting back to that?

You beat me to the punch, Rick. I doubt our offense is getting worse, so let's assume (and hope) that it is a sign of a better D. Sometimes you can't tell, but since we have so much of the O returning, it's not likely that they're going backwards. Even a moderate increase in D should lead us to a lot more wins, considering how good our offense has become.

Yeah, I really think we will see a huge difference in our defense this year. I know that it is hard to believe they can change, but I really do think Mendoza was just WAY out of his element.

I'm pretty sure the offense just about knew what the defense was going to run on just about every play last year.

Freshman cornerback James Hamilton and backup lineman Kail Krider both had interceptions. … Defensive end Mack Cole, a junior college transfer, continued to see time with the first-team defense.

Someone asked the other day about Kail Krider. I guess that answers that question.

Love hearing about the defense stepping up, just hoping that our D Line can get even a little pressure. with all that speed in the DB's that would be really helpful. I'm really concerned about the depth that we have on the D Line
