Great performance by the men's gymnastics team winning the bronze. The Chinese are phenomenal and are the equivalent of the Women's softball team against the rest of the world.

I don't know about that, they were dominant this year, but this is the first time in a very long time that they have taken gold at the Olympics in the men's. US Women's softball just never loses.

I know what you are saying, but I meant from a talent standpoint. Amazing to watch especially the rings and parallel bars.

I know this is in bad taste to say it, but after watching the men's, and now the women's gymnastics, I noticed that neither of the China team members ever show much emotion, even when they do well coming off from the events. And each time I kept think what must be going through their heads, and a voice from the distance say'ing, "Ok, you do good then you see your parents again.....maybe!". Then afterwards after winning the gold, "Ok, you do good, you see parents now!. Then it's back to one yen per day making plastic spatula's for Wal Mart, tomorrow!".

I know, that's bad?

Our swim teams are incredible. Watching the women's volleyball now. I'm very proud of Burleson's Stacy Sykora for making her third olympics this year.

Sadly, Rick, you're probably not too far off the mark at all. And, there is no way some of those Chinese girls were over the age of 12...let alone 16. I think, when it is all said and done, we will find that the Chinese bent and stretched every rule possible to dominate these games.

The U.S. women may have had a bit of a meltdown towards the end there...but, hey, Alicia Sacramone is still a wicked hottie (if you're into the sort of chick that could kick your ass).

And, holy hell...the swimming relay that shaved 5 seconds off the world record? That was just...wow.

LOL!, I'm right there with you. And you think she's hot now, do a search for where are they now on google and you'll see a trend with what these young ladies will look like 10 years or more from now. We were talking about Nadia Comeneci, and I remember seeing an interview of her a while back and that she was looking pretty good. She's now married to Bart Connor and had a kiddo at 44. Here she is at 46.

Actually, things are different. That Chinese women's diver made something like $7 million last year just from endorsements.

Women's All Around, Gold and Silver. How about that? I thought for sure the way the scoring was going the U.S. girls were gonna get the shaft? Way to go Nastia Liukin and Shawn Johnson.

Rick

Absolutely, I thought the way the scores were going that the U.S. was going to get screwed for sure. I didn't even know that Nastia was from Parker, until a couple of days ago, that's only a stones throw from us in Wylie.

Did anyone else notice where the announcer said she was planning on attending school...SMU. It would of been nice to have a gold medal gymnast attending UNT.

While I dont believe alot of the Chinese girls are over the age of 16, I will give them the benfefit of the doubt in that in general Chinese women have smaller physiques and typically look younger than they really are. I've got a few Chinese friends and they say that generally the girls there and in many places in that part of the world they do not develop as fast as say women from the States or from the west. Again while I dont belive that all of them are at the age of 16 or older I am just trying to give them the benefit of the doubt.

Actually I believe she is already enrolled at SMU. She enrolled in January to major in international business but afcourse she took a leave of absence for the olympics.
