Dunbar is a very gifted athlete who at times is too fast for his own feet. He’s got lighting quick speed. Not sure what situations you might see him on the field in this year because remember the stable of running backs is very deep, and very talented.

really, really love our RBs this year, but Dunbar in particular is a kid I have been really excited to see on the field.

Hmmm...I find this entry curious:

Jeff from Denton

Q: How is the kicking game looking?

A: Yesterday was the first time we’ve seen any action from freshman Trent Deans and he was consistently nailing them from 30-40 yards out. It remains to be seen how he’ll fair once Aug. 30 rolls around but our crew was impressed with his power.

I thought Jeremy Knott was going to be our kicker? That may still be the case but I find it very odd that someone asked about the "kicking game" and the reply is regarding Trent Deans. I sure as hell hope we have a more reliable kicking game this season.

Our own personal Hard Knocks... I am very much enjoying these...

Can't wait for Kansas State. Wow, that rhymes...n stuff

I am soooo ready to see how things translate to the field against a big 12'er this year. No expectations, just ready to see how things translate this year.

I thought that odd too that a kicking game question would not involve a Jeremy Knott answer, but he was mentioned on this UNT Blog on Day 1......

Teeing Off

9:35 p.m.

Transfer Jeremy Knott just had an opportunity to showcase his kickoff skills and he responded with three consecutive boots at or inside the five yard line. If Knott shows this type of consistency it could go a long way in providing the Mean Green defense with great field position.

From the FWST:

_ At 6-foot-4 and nearly 200 pounds, transfer Jeremy Knott is the biggest kicker I've ever seen. Said he ran middle-distance track and played soccer in high school. He kicked in football but never played another position after eighth grade. Hard to believe.

I believe Deans was on last years roster.

I looked it up and Deans redshirted last year. I guess Moreland left the team, as he is not listed on this year's roster.

Simple. The new guys have been practicing earlier than the continuing students. Knott started in the spring and therefore comes in at 8pm, whereas this other kid is a freshman and starts kicking at 7pm.

Right?

True, plus you can always use an extra kicker in case of injury. I believe TD introduced another kicker, punter maybe, at the cookout. Did we sign another punter?
