I can't imagine how far down the university's priority list these plans might be.

I think the luxury suites in the Pit are short term plans.

Let's "pretend"? Dude, you have got to get your numbers straight. We had enrollment of 34,268 in 2007. That comes to a little over $6 million a year, again not counting summer students.

Lies, damn lies, and statistics. They don't mean anything.

You say their enrollment is "almost" as large as ours. BZZZZZZ! UNT is 17% larger than UTSA, a difference of 6,000 students.

Here are the official Fall 2007 enrollment figures as provided by the Texas Education Agency.

North Texas - UNT-Denton and UNT-Dallas have a combined enrollment of 34,153 but 1,844 of those reside at the Dallas campus and don't pay athletics fees.

North Texas - Denton...32,309

UT-San Antonio...28,533

Difference in campus enrollment: 3776 or UTSA is 8.55% smaller than North Texas-Denton

Yes, I would certainly call that comparable when comparing 30,000 student universities.

Lies, damn lies, and statistics. They don't mean anything. You're charging at windmills.

But all facts say otherwise.

But we've been improving all facilities and getting ready for the jump to another conference.

But so are other schools, and with the help of proactive student government associations working with extended long tem plans, they are doing it at a very fast pace.

Incorrect. They pay they same student services fee as the main campus students.

Any news links? I've actually never heard of this before today. I don't agree with it personally.

Just to give this a more positive note: It seems to me that the mood around campus is much different than it was when the first vote came out. Now people seem to really have school spirit. Instead of hearing people say, "I'm just here to get my grades up so I can get into UT", I'm hearing "I visited UT but liked UNT way better" and other similar sentiments. I think the vote will be much different this time. People who don't care about their school (a la a few years ago) don't want to pay extra to make it better, and it still almost passed.

---The State of Texas (government) just is not supporting education like it once did, thus tuition has skyrocketed. . They cut $800,000,000 from the state university budget a few years ago then then "let" each college set their own tuition (honestly to make up for what they had cut from the budget, not to make colleges competitive for students as Perry et. al. claimed) . It has gotten worse since.. yet we still elect those guys back to Austin... We get what we are willing to pay for. They claim to cut taxes but has any state taxes been cut that YOU pay (sales, alcohol, tobacco, etc. ) been cut. For most people, NO, but your property taxes have jumped because they don't support pulic schools or colleges like they once did.

I work in education and have at both levels. (public schools and college). This is not just meant to be political but the truth about what is happening. Their idea of improving education is more "standardized state testing" which by the way doesn't dare compare us to scores in other states. .

Incorrect. They pay they same student services fee as the main campus students.

During the 2007-2008 fiscal year the UNT-Dallas campus reached 814 full-time enrollment.

When the UNT Dallas Campus' on-site enrollment reaches the full-time equivalent of 1,000 students, the system will establish the free-standing University of North Texas at Dallas. No student service fees, including athletic fees, will be contributed to UNT-Denton. This will happen well before any 2010 fee increase.

Please don't tell me that the "recent growth of the last several years" is what the current plan is based around. We know where those additional 2000 students are. Other than that the Denton campus has taken 24 years (1984-2008) to increase by 10,000 students. I can't prove that UNT-Denton definitely will not increase another 10,000 students to (42,000 enrollment by 2014) over the next 6 years, but I find it highly unlikely.
