Probably because they are so "sexy". And because they are the only team, that I have heard of anyway, that made up championship rings and touted themselves as "champions" when they didn't go to the bowl and lost head-to-head to the real champs. Oh, and because they're the MUTS.

The last year of the SWC ended in a six way tie and Tech ended up going to the Cotton Bowl since it have been the longest since they had been (never!). All fix other schools made SWC Conference Champion rings for their teams. Maybe it was just a five way tie, but I know the others made rings for their teams.

That kinda stuff has happened in the Big 10 as well.

I dislike MTSU because of all the garbage they spewed at us a few years ago about the losing record Bowl team. WKU obviously has the proximity and long standing rivalry with them. Not sure why Troy and MTSU have issues, but I do like the game they play(Battle of the Palladium).

MTSU seems to have multiple rivals though. So it does make sense they are the most hated.

--Intersting comment in article maybe in comments... FAU (Florida Atlantic) of the SunBelt was the only Florida school to win their bowl game last year.

Yeah, I was about to say, MTSU is a fun rivalry... where as WKU can suck it.
