I heard this today on ESPN Radio about the Iowa Sexual assault scandal.

Colin Cowherd host of the show claims in order to be a successful college team in this day in age you have to have players who get in trouble off the field. He said the sad fact is that good players like to cause harm off the field because they love pain. He took examples from Florida, OU, USC, Ohio State claiming the better the team the more police are involved. Also depending on just how good the player is, will also determine the universities involvement with the accusation.

I would like to read your thoughts on this

In general, I would agree with the premise, with the exception of Iowa. Iowa sucks. They would be better off folding the program and letting the players go somewhere else if they could find someone to take them.

Hey, I'm no checkfacts, but, It.Aint.Worth.It. If anyone thinks criminals are cool, find some crackheads or meth freaks to hang out with for a while.

It might be easier to succeed but it isn't the only way.

The single biggest problem that faces college athletics is money.

When an athletic department makes so much money that it isn't dependent on general university funding the presidents have little control.

When an athletic department has access to people of great wealth and power a popular coach or athletic director can get away with anything because those friends can send a president packing.

When alumni withhold money because athletics are unsuccessful but not because tolerated ill behavior and tolerated academic lapses for athletics diminishes the perceived quality of a degree, universities get the message loud and clear that anyone with great athletic ability should be given wide-latitude for embarrassing behavior but there should be zero tolerance for not achieving the perceived level of athletic success the institution is entitled to.

Wow, just WOW. Ferentz and the AD should be gone if the story is true and I have no reason to not believe it.

This is on the level and worse than the CU scandal.

Bunch of Cowards making to much money making decisions.
