I just got in a huge debate with a North Texas alum about the upcoming season. He told me that make the team exciting and he will come and watch. I couldn't believe my hears!! Why isn't everyone must be given proof its worth their while!?

Through our heated debate, I began thinking about the upcoming year more than I have all summer. Anyways, what is the word on QBs. Are we going to run out dual QBs? Forgive my ignorance.

I think you will see Vizza locked in as the starter. I really don't see Rodge coming in unless Vizza gets hurt. A redshirt year would seperate them 2 by a full 2 years.

Todd Dodge may see things differently though.

Your friend wants excitment - our offense has it. While both defenses were horrible, the Navy game last year kept the crowd excited with TD after TD. I think the offense will really put up some serious numbers this year -- along with defensive improvment as well.

I think that this supports the theory that winning will bring more fans to games. We are not yet to the point that people will show up to watch, no matter how bad we are. It may not be the news we want, but it's the news we have.

If he wants to be selfish like that then just tell him: "The more you come out and support and bring others, the more successful our football program will be. The more successful our football program is, the more noticeable his degree will be."

If he rejects that.....he is a loser and we dont want him at the games.

I don't think my degree is noticed more or less due to football. That is crazy. Most professional people don't rank colleges or degrees by their football status. Get real.

If your logic is sound, A GRADUATE OF OHIO STATE will always get more job attention. Just something to think about.

Football is just publicity. Everyone has heard of Ohio State, hardly anyone has heard of Louisiana-Lafayette.

Plus, televised games are when the Ohio States and Floridas and UCLAs run their tv ads talking up their academic programs. So, you could say that football does have an indirect affect on the value of your degree.
