And now we see that Michelle Wie is playing in the LEGENDS (I guess she has given up on playing with boys her own age) Reno-Taho Open in stead of trying to qualify for the women's british open. Interesting to say the least. I personally hope that she misses this cut too, and that she will finally try to make a go of it on the LPGA. She has the talent and game to be one of the best LPGA players ever, but I am not sure she has the mental part of the game (yet) to allow her to be successful anywhere except in her own mind.

Shame on the tournamnet sponsors, the PGA and everyone else involved in this circus. I think Hunter Mahan should go play in the women's british open. Hey, if it is good for the gander, perhaps it is good for the goose! Besides, Hunter may be exilied to some "far off tour" if he keep saying things publicly that he might need to keep a bit more pivate. Man, his comments about the Ryder Cup were "spot on", but I'll bet he takes a beating publicly for them. Ouch, what do you think he will say/do should he move into a top 8 spot and get an automatic berth in the Ryder Cup? I'll guess right now that he is NOT a captain's pick should he stay below the automatic eighth place. Hey, gotta hand it to him for speaking his mind, but he might need to think a bit first next time.

You do realize that the Legends Reno-Tahoe Open is a PGA tour stop, not a SR's tour stop right? This is the tournament which this entire thread was begun over.

I realize its a lame argument, but Hunter can't go play with the gitls because it's the LadiesPGA... The PGA is ambiguously left open to all professionals.

Green P1...are you sure???? My bad if it is a regular PGA stop...sorry, but that makes it all the more "stupid". Another cut for Michelle, and another spot taken from a deserving PGA tour member trying to make the tour on a regular basis. This is just stupid...STUPID on the part of the PGA to allow the Michelle Wie CIRCUS to show up at PGA events.

And, yes, your second part is a "lame argument". So, change the name to "Men's PGA TOUR" and Michelle would not be able to play...I think NOT!

Again, sorry, I did think it was a senior's tour event. maybe the "older guys" have more sense than to allow the CIRCUS to come to town.

OK, now I realize why I was "confused". The big boys of the PGA are playing the Bridgestone this week. The Legends Reno-Tahoe Open is a 2nd tier PGA event for those not playing the Bridgestone. I guess my comment about Michelle not "playing with the big boys" still stands, and makes the fact that she skipped trying to qualify for the Woemen's Senior Open even that much more STUPID! Only in America would this circus go on...like someone said, "it's all about the money". I guess I have no problem with that concept when it comes to professional sports, I just hate to see a sport as tradition bound as golf fall into the realm of professional wrestling!

You improve by competing against better compitition. If you want to be upset at someone...be upset at the tournaments that are granting her the exemptions.

----I agree with everything..... plus she is already competing against better competiton in the LPGA tournments... if not, why can't she defeat them.?? She is not the Tiger Woods of LPGA.. so she should play there until she gets to that point and dominates the LPGA.

---I suppose they think they will improve TV ratings but putting her in those tournaments... nothing else makes any sense. Maybe admitting women in bikinis would help ratings also or even using them as caddies.

And, once gain CUT! Shot an 80 in the second round with a 9 on one hole! Again took the spot of some young guy trying to make a living on the tour. This kid has game, but she is NOT going to be the top player on the LPGA tour UNLESS she gets her head and ego going in the same direction. What a circus she is, and her parents should be ashamed of themselves for continuing this circus. They should be giving her much better advice. I guess they are as "star struck" as any "little league parent" has ever been. Tragedy, simply a tragedy. This kid may never reach her potential if she keeps trying to play in men's tournaments. She couldn't even make the cut in a second tier event when the big guns on the men's tour were playing elsewhere. This CRAP with Michelle Wie needs to stop and it needs to stop NOW! I hope no other men's tournament gives her a place. Good grief!

---On the the green, women golfers are often as good or even better than men golfers. It is getting to the green that is the difference.... and no amount of playing with men can change that They just aren't as strong and can't drive as far as men. ... (so much for playing with better competition theory) Until a woman golfer can just totally dominate the LPGA, she needs to stay there. Wie can't even win consistently in the LPGA. The PGA is at fault for allowing her to play and she is stupid for doing so. A couple of weeks ago she did a even stupider thing... did not even sign her score card and got DQed.
