Non-issue

Evidently it was enough of an issue for someone to take it this far?

The pseudonym was apparently inadequate to prevent Techdude's identity from being exposed. He reports that last week one or more persons "decided to track me down and vandalize my car and hang a dead mutilated rabbit from my front door in a lame attempt to intimidate me from proceeding with releasing any details of my analysis. They did succeed in delaying the report by a few days but instead of deterring me they just really pissed me off. To their credit, if I had not taken a few days off from the analysis I would have missed the most damning piece of evidence -- the remnants of the previous security border."

OH NO, A NON-US CITIZEN RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT?

You know, I kind of like this idea. I mean, especially if you're born in a 3rd world country. Hey, who would better appreciate all this country has to offer than someone whose country of birth has nothing to offer?

That is, if this is even true.

For fear of being flamed I have not heard anything come from Obama or his wife that makes me feel they appreciate everything this country has given/allowed them to gain.

No one flame him. Seriously.

However, it's very easy to be critical of this country. Failing infrastructure, continued discrimination, crime and general violence, the immigration issue, VA problems, poverty, and a sagging (not failing) economy as well problems in education, the medical system and the like. On that same note, there is a lot to be thankful for. From someone that wasn't born here and with family in what amounts to a failing nation, I see the US as a country that is great now but can be so much more when it's properly balanced in all aspects of government and society. Do I love this country? Yes. Do I know it's got serious, serious problems that can make someone conflicted as to the real value of this nation? Oh, definitely.

points well taken, even with all the problems in the country I would not want to live anywhere, well maybe Sweden due to the blondes, but it would be too cold. My comments came from the elitist comments that have come out from many of the politicians, who say one thing and then go do another. One example is Ted Kennedy railing for National Healthcare, yet goes to a private hospital for treatment. That is just one example of the pigs on capital hill being two-faced, hey wait maybe they can get into the next Batman movie. ;)

I must ask again, if Obama is such an easy target with regards to his stances on energy, foreign policy, etc...why does the politics of fear continue to be the path most taken?

Because it is the easiest and takes the least amount of effort.

Well, there's that pesky Constitution that prevents not only non-citizens, but non naturally-born citizens, from holding the office of President.

And I agree with it.

If I recall, the Democrats were running around in 2004 claiming that Bush had a "secret plan" to institute the draft so that he could send poor kids to Iraq to steal his oil.

This is one of those things that's will need to be changed with time. Not to the point where someone can just show up from overseas one year and then run for the Oval Office the next, but at least opens it up for people born abroad and then raised in the states for a majority of their formative years and then having a US citizenship a vast majority of their lifetime prior to their running. There's no reason why someone born in another country and basically raised as an American in the US can't run as long as they've been here long enough (long enough meaning citizenship for more than 95% of their life).

They can call it the Schwarzenegger Amendment.

Here...I'll save everyone the pain of responding back and forth and having to read it. So here's how it ends:

FFR: Barack HUSSEIN Obama hates America and kicks puppies with his Jihadist buddies

CBL: McCain lets oil execs perform sexual favors on him in exchange for keeping gas prices high.

Flyer: I'm independent so I don't really care who wins as long as the hook me up with more oil...I need it, baby!

SUMG: If those Dems win, be ready to bow to Allah.

Emmitt: If those Repubs win, Iraq will become our 51st state.

Bowler: Liberals wanna tax you, take your land, kiss your women, and sissify your children.

SE-66: Conservatives want to take us back to the "good ol' days" of the 1820's when whitey ruled and the women knew to keep their mouth shut.

Plumm: Hippies piss me off!

BeanCounter: Neo-cons are doodie heads!

Quoner: Did someone mention sexual favors?

Did that about cover it?

Apologies to anyone I left out on both sides.

I'm going to bed now to get rid of this tired head I've acquired.

I'm insulted. I would never be so wishy-washy as to consider myself an independent. I'm a Republican. It's just that I'm an agnostic, pro-choice Republican.

You owe me an apology.

How did I get left off this list? I have taken an honest effort to curb my political rants. I guess it's working.

I apologize...I thought I remember you stating you were independent a while back. I'm going to show my liberalism by blaming the mistake on lack of a universal health care system that would provide me with magic memory pills that I could not otherwise afford.

Not to mention the ultimate in politics of fear... A tv ad showing a little girl counting the petals on a daisy, transposed to an image of a nuclear explosion & mushroom cloud. Giving the message that the other guy is going to start a nuclear war. This was an actual ad run by the Dem's during a presidential election. It proved to be so upsetting in only ran one time.

So when it comes to the politics of fear....there is a lot to go around.
