Drink up, UCF fans, because starting this football season the drinking lamp goes out come kickoff time.

Administrators are cracking down on fans like Mohawk Man.

Remember him?

The Orlando Sentinel blogged about Mohawk Man when he couldn't get tickets to last year's sold-out game between the University of Central Florida and the University of Texas, the first at the brand new, on-campus Bright House Networks Stadium.

So he joined hundreds of other fans on the campus grounds. They kept drinkin' and playin' Beer Pong while the Knights battled the Longhorns.

Sorry, Mohawk Man, but not this year.

Under the new rule, tailgating fans can imbibe from 7 a.m. until kickoff on game days. Last year, fans could drink alcohol from 7 a.m. until two hours after the game ended, and UCF officials said a lot of people weren't bothering to attend the game, even if it wasn't sold out.

They preferred to continue partying outside the $54 million stadium.

"We want people to enjoy the game once kickoff starts . . . not to be outdoors engaging in alternative behaviors," said athletic department spokesman Joe Hornstein.

Sounds like a GREAT idea! Get butts in the seats and keep the parking lot a little cleaner and a little safer. Why can't we do this? I'm sick of dumbasses turning the Fout's lots into a landfill.

You would get 23 more fans in the gates at Fouts. The rest of the tailgaters will just pack it up and head to Tavern.

Well at least the walk to the parking lot will be nicer, I won't have to step over trash to get to my car, and there would be less drunks to deal with. Sounds like a win, win.
