9. RB Patrick Cobbs - This Texas State legend was the feel good story of the 2007 exhibition season, the underdog everyone pulled for last training camp. But when his number got called on during the regular season Cobbs averaged an anemic 3.1 yards on 15 carries and lost his carries to Samkon Gado. His limited size (5-foot-8, 205 pounds) puts him at a disadvantage with this regime, so he'll need to churn out big time yards during training camp and the exhibition season to unseat rookies Jalen Parmale and Lex Hilliard for a roster spot.

Any chance they said Texas State referring to just the fact that he played his college football in the State of Texas. Maybe not but I think it's possible they just didn't choose their wording correctly. Come on P.Cobbs!!

If that were the case...they wouldn't have capitalized the word "State."

No just another press moron who doesn't check his facts.

I had no idea he averaged 3.1, I was always impressed by him out there? Was I drinking the green koolaid, because I thought on a couple of occassions he was being robbed more time.

Take it for what it's worth, since this guy didn't get the schools straight.

He played in the mud game, which everyone averaged below 3 yards.

I just checked the blog and it has been corrected to say North Texas and not Texas State. I wonder how many emails he received today ...

Right before I started this thread I posted in the comments of the article.. Glad that he updated it instead of the typical, "does it really matter? It is still UNT" attitude from most sports writers.
