Too bad Morneau beat him in the finals.

Maybe this leaves the door open for Ham bone to have some heroics tomorrow night.

Truly a shame. Would have been fitting for him to win it overall, not just the show itself. Hard to believe someone putting up that many in the 1st round not winning the whole thing. His shots were rediculously longer than anyone else in the tournament. Still, the announcers stated it several times that it was his night and everyone will remember it.

Some queer ass Patrick Roy fan should never be acknowledged on American soil. Therefore, the Risk Brother won.

Even Morneau knew who the winner should have been:

When it was over, Morneau was left practically apologizing for beating Hamilton.

"I was lucky that we got reset," he said. "This was his show. He deserved to win it.

"It does seem kind of unfair that he didn't get to win the whole thing," Morneau added. "Anyone who was here won't forget that performance."

I was really glad to see what this kid did. I was hoping for an all-texas final, but no such luck. Really kick ass to see the fans get behind Hamilton. Hoping for good things out of he and the Rangers this year. I was up in Dallas this past weekend, really is an exciting team to watch.

Did you go on Saturday? Were you the guy in the Yao Ming jersey and Astros hat one section over from me?

HA. I'm not sure if you're joking or not, but unless I'm actually playing a sport that requires one, I've got a pretty strict "no jersey" policy. So to answer your question, "not a chance". It's nice to hear Houston douche is making their presence known in the DF-dub.

I did, however, watch the game from BJ's in Lewisville after being at party cove all day. For a few minutes there I thought they might actually pull it out. (Of course now Im not sure if Im talking about the game or the hedonism I witnessed on the lake).

I seriously did go and seriously did see that guy. He was a very passionate cheerer though, so I didn't give him any crap.

I can make 14 jokes out of the second half of your post.

I've never understood the Home Run Derby. I guess it was better this year in that the first 2 rounds totals went together to determine who made the finals. It's a step in the right direction, but it still doesn't make sense how the person who hit the most home runs in the Home Run Derby lost. Add all 3 rounds together for a total for the entire contest for the winner. That way a player is rewarded when he puts up a monster first or second round, rather than being punished for doing too well and tiring himself out.

Agree, Morneau didn't even have a total that matched JH's first round of 28. Silly.

On another note, the All Star game is in the 15th, tied 3 to 3. Ian Kinsler got robbed on a stolen base that would have allowed him to score the winning run later in the inning. He and Young have put on a clinic playing the infield together. One more inning and this game becomes the longest All Star game in history.

And Texas' Micheal Young hits a deep pop fly to right that scores Morneau(the slowest looking dude you've ever seen) to win it for the AL. Young's second All Star game winning at bat in 3 years.

It ended up as the longest All Star game in history...4 hours, 50 minutes.
