I hate to admit it, but, I was kind of hoping he would leave. Steve Orsini is one of the brightest, and most aggressive young AD's in the country. SMU fans have to be thrilled.

I doubt he would turn down ND if they offered. They probably just told him he's off the short list so this makes it look like it was his choice to stay at Smut. Coaches do the same thing, withdraw the application before the media is told they hired someone else.

Steve Orsini has a LONG way to go before he would be a candidate to be the Notre Dame AD. He was not offered the job and if he was offered it he would have been gone faster than you could say "Death Penalty".
