A special meeting about Dallas County traffic tickets turned tense and bizarre this afternoon.

County commissioners were discussing problems with the central collections office that is used to process traffic ticket payments and handle other paperwork normally done by the JP Courts.

Commissioner Kenneth Mayfield, who is white, said it seemed that central collections "has become a black hole" because paperwork reportedly has become lost in the office.

Commissioner John Wiley Price, who is black, interrupted him with a loud "Excuse me!" He then corrected his colleague, saying the office has become a "white hole."

That prompted Judge Thomas Jones, who is black, to demand an apology from Mayfield for his racially insensitive analogy.

Mayfield shot back that it was a figure of speech and a science term. A black hole, according to Webster's, is perhaps "the invisible remains of a collapsed star, with an intense gravitational field from which neither light nor matter can escape."

Other county officials quickly interceded to break it up and get the meeting back on track. TV news cameras were rolling, after all.

what a bunch of embarassing buffoons.

PC gone haywire. How the hell do goofballs like Price, Jackson, and Sharpton remain so-called leaders. Like a bunch of lemmings running for the cliffs.

Thanks god I am out of the Dallas area.

"Dallas County Commissioner John Wiley Price is sticking to his comments that the term "black hole," which a colleague used, is racist.Price also says language such as "angel food cake" and "devil's food cake" are also racially insensitive. "

Unbelievable. And this guy will get re-elected.

The embarrassment of the City of Dallas and Dallas County continues. The fact that this is getting national attention is absurd.

Kind of funny this happened the day after J.J. expressed his desire to cut Obama's nuts off because he "talks down to black people".

Every time a black leader tries to step out from the tired old "victim" mentality and start preaching personal responsibility (Bill Cosby, Barack Obama, Jesse Lee Patterson), they are bashed by the old-school civil rights leaders (Jackson, Sharpton, et al) who would be without a job if racism (not fake, contrived racism like this "black hole" comment) stopped tomorrow.

Bingo!!!! They need job security and Wiley-Price and the Judge are alongside Sharpton and Jackson with their shakedowns.

I also have my opinion why we actually got an apology from Jackson in this instance and not in others.

And you can link ol' Al to Nazi-related comments: http://www.dallasarena.com/s050106.htm

Linking Adolf Hitler and Dallas Mayor Laura Miller in the same breath, former City Council member Al Lipscomb on Wednesday compared efforts to expand mayoral powers to Nazi power grabs and the Jewish Holocaust.

... his eyes trained on Ms. Miller as he wagged his finger at her. "Hitler – he was one man obsessed with the need of more power. A power-crazed brute.

"The mayor's office of Dallas is not for you alone, Ms. Miller, and your cronies. Shame, shame, shame!"

We have come full circle

What this poll really indicates is that 3% of the people that responded are total idiots and don't have a clue what the term means. .

Effective immediately the following terms will be changed.

If the electricity in a city goes out it will no longer be referred to as a rolling "black out" but will now be a "non color specific outage"

If you are ostracized you will no longer be "black balled" you will now be "non color specific excluded"

If you do something really bad it will no longer put a "black mark" on your career, it will now be a "non color specific faux pas"

If I punch you in the face you will no longer get a "black eye" you will now have a "non color specific abrasion"

I will never again arrest anyone for "black tar" heroin, they will now be arrested for "darker than usual heroin"

No longer will you visit Vegas to play "blackjack" you will now simply play "try to hit 21"

There will no longer be a "black widow" spider, the new name will be "spider who eats its mate"

ZING!!!!!

I know what you're referencing!!!(hand raises)

Pick me! Pick me! Pick me!

Why couldn't they have just called it a White Hole???If you ask me Einstein was a dirty racist, and his general theory of relativity was nothing but a ploy to keep the black man perpetually down.

Obama/Price 08!!!!!!
