2008-09 Schedule

Nice schedule. Early showdown with Denver in Denton. Matches against TX Tech, Miss. State, Rice, SMU, Tulsa, FIU, UTEP, Central Florida, and match with UCLA!!! in Waco

Definately a much stronger schedule and will show how far along the ladies are.

Nice to have FIU and Denver coming to Denton though.

Only easy matches appear to be SFA and Midwestern

To bad no UALR, ULM, ULL, UNO, or Arky State.

It's nice that we're hosting the SBC tournament....that should help.

We sure don't play many conference teams....before the tourney. I think I counted 4. Last year, we played 7. (Maybe that schedule isn't finalized????)

Sun Belt does not require teams to play Conference foes, probably due to travel for a non-revenue sport. I am surprised though to not see any of the close schools on the schedule, but they are fairly weak now and I believe Lama wants a Top 50 team and in order to achieve that you must beat the best, which this schedule will allow them ample chances.

Those fall tournaments...are just exhibitions...correct? I don't think they count on the team's record for the year...do they?

The tournaments count essentially as a match for the team schedule purposes, believe they are allowed 140 days for practice and play. Playing more tournaments in the fall = less time to play in Spring, hence the 20 matches. Each match counts as a day unless they are doing a double-header. I believe each Tournament day counts against the team total days as well.

The fall actually is good to allow for Regional Rankings to be more accurate and possibly garner the team a ranking heading into the Spring.
