I've seen a few improvements in the game based on this demo and the little time I've spent with it:

- Better looking turf

- More realistic sideline (people look less like zombies, sideline camera crews, cheerleaders performing cheers)

- Option to play teams made up of mascots (the demo includes the option to play a team of Florida Gator mascots vs. a team of UT Longhorn mascots...costume, not BEVO)...don't know if this is an improvement, but it is a difference

The demo version allows you to play LSU at Ohio State (that's all). I'm looking forward to the full version, out on July 15th, with the new UNT uni's. Bottom line is I need a Mean Green football fix. Watching last year's Tivo'd games against OU, ULALA, and ULM just aren't cutting it anymore. My wife thinks I have a problem. C'mon August!

I think I have to agree with her on that one! ;)

Some notes:

*It is also available on PS3 at the online store.

*Play is LSU at Ohio State, as stated, with with 2 minute quarters set on Varsity (2nd of 4) difficulty level.

*There is also an exploit to play in the horseshoe at night if you are interested in seeing the new lighting dynamics. Just reset your console's date to November or December, and play as usual.

*The demo is a build of the game from late April. Since then, there have been a ton of additions and tweaks. If something doesn't look right, it has probably been ironed out. For example, there's a bug that will show some drives as 140 yards.

*The biggest difference from the demo to the final build is that the pass rush has been toned way down. If you play the demo, you'll constantly be looking over your shoulder for two or three guys to break free almost immediately. In the final build, it has been suggested that there is TOO much time. Good for us, and good for Giovanni Vizza.

*PS3 will run at 60 frames per second, instead of 30. I know it is said that the human eye can't distinguish anything over 30, but that's a common misconception. Just pop in 08 and then play the 09 demo. That 30 fps difference makes the game look tons more realistic and smooth.

Any word on how it's going to play online (PS3 version specifically)? I had last year's game, but the online play was near unplayable with lag problems. Also, where are you reading up on the game?

This isn't really new, they did it for the last generation systems, so this is an inclusion of an old feature.

To plug my post in the non-unt sports section, if you plan on buying this game on the PS3 send me a PM if you're interested in playing in a mid-major only league that I'm trying to start up, thanks!

I read that the online lag was definitely brought up at a community day in May. From what I understand, the devs said that they would work on it, but it remains to be seen if it is really any better.

I have been combing the boards over at ncaastrategies.com for the past few months. There's just some great information over there, including a few question and answer threads with the producer and lead designer.

Dang...kind of renders the entire "online dynasty" concept useless without excellent online play. I hope they don't just "work on it", but fix the dang thing. My friends and I are salivating over the prospect of the new dynasty mode....

Sweet! Thanks.

I've heard you can import your own MP3 files into the game to be played in quite a few different scenarios over the stadium's loudspeaker (first down, touchdown, stop on 3rd down, timeouts, etc.). There's the answer to all of our fight song questions! Also, how sweet will it be to pump Thunderstruck into the stadium again?

It's also the biggest waste of time, money and gaming space for the ncaa football series.

Put money in to making the game realistic? Nah, Let's give the people want they really want, mascot games.

I thought I saw a post a while back that mentioned a Green Brigade CD. Can someone confirm if this is true? If so, what type of stuff is on it? Might work good with this game feature.

The Green Brigade has released a collection of music every other year for seemingly a decade. At least, from what I remember.

It usually includes the most recent shows, plus the usual fight song, alma meter, and stand tunes.

Anyone have an mp3 of the eagle screech (or anything else you think might be used in a game besides the fight song).

You can get copies of the lastest cd through the Music Department. It has a couple of cheers, a drum cadence, fight song, alma mater, and fly like an eagle. Dr. Williams said that there's another CD coming out in the spring with "Power" (the fanfare you hear when we get a first down) and "hey baby."

The real question is does it play any different than '08??? 2008 on the 360 sucked fat donkey balls, IMO. Xbox live keeps kicking me off when I try to download the damn demo!!!!!!!!
