In 2005 in America there were 31,000 deaths due to firearms. I think we all know how Americans feel about their guns. link

In England in 2005, where no one is allowed to have guns, not even the cops. There were 185 deaths due to firearms. link

Lets look at those numbers again because they seem quite baffling at first. 31,000 deaths in America compared to 185 deaths in England. *But, there's no connection to having a gun and shooting someone with it, and not having a gun and not shooting someone. And you'd be a fool and a communist to make such an argument. Those 185 were probably American tourists.

You and I would see completely eye to eye if we were starting from a baseline of no guns. If America had adopted a policy of nobody has guns 100 years ago then we would be speaking the same language. As it stands right now, though, every shithead I run across on a daily basis just might have a gun...so you can be damn sure I'll have one too (in fact 6 of them).

But what about the King of England? Do you want the King of England coming into your home and pushing you around? Huh? Well...do ya?

I'm not neccesarilly anti-gun...I'll never own one...what I am against is Joe Horn...both the Saints wide reciever with the ridiculous cell phone celebration...and this guy who went out of his home with the intent on killing two people...even boasting about it seconds before. He was in no danger...and this ruling gives a dangerous amount of interpretive leeway to the castle law.

"You want to make a bet?" Horn answered. "I'm going to kill them." - seriously...God bless that? What an odd verse that would make.

But you did not include stabbings and England is the size of a small state.

another Bill Hicks reference:

In England they have no guns, but a very high crime rate, which shows you just how polite the British are.

- "Give me your wallet!"

- "Alright"

They do have 30,000 deaths per soccer match, though.

A guy walks into a bank and says, "Give me all your money. I've got a soccer ball!"

"Holy shit, Ian, that's a Spalding. He's serious!"

I could go on and on and on...

I am glad to see you are for helping out criminals.

Good for Mr. Horn. I couldn't see him not getting no billed.

The latest results on Injury mortality by mechanism and intent in the U.S. by the CDC are from 2005. http://www.cdc.gov/nchs/data/nvsr/nvsr56/nvsr56_10.pdf

Falls: 20,426

There were 18,124 reported homicides in 2005. 5,847 non firearm related..

Certainly that must be the next logical step if I don't want to see 2 people shot by a civilian...I want to give them a hug and drive the get-a-way car....you give me such a headache.

Horn was in no mortal danger...he was told by the 911 operator to stay inside...he announced his intention on killing these guys...he shot both of them in the back. Horn deserves some sort of punishment.

You need to get over yourself, Horn did not force them to break in his neighbor's house. He did not start the situation in anyway. There are those that take action and those who don't. Horn was wound up, disgusted, and felt he had to do something. For me to watch something like that would be like watch watching a rape, I would not take that in my neighborhood. Maybe you live in a bad neighborhood and are used to it, or maybe you have never faced real crime. Joe Horn watched this from his Daughter's house, the house that his grandchildren lived in, he was protecting their environment as well. Unless you have been in a similar situation don't comment, I have.

I'm sorry something is seriously wrong with you if you can really equate stealing someones property to rape. There's a big difference between having to replace their TV to having to live with the pain and torment that lingers with rape victims for the rest of their life.

Don't get me wrong, I am for people being able to defend THEIR property when THEY are in danger.

Its not the comparison to rape the exact act but the violation of a safe environment by criminals. It is not about replacing material goods either. It is about feeling safe.

You have no business telling me there is something seriously wrong with me, that privilege seems to be reserved for the women in my life.
