Louisiana Tech is setting up 20 zones (areas) and advertising (via e-mails) for representatives to sell season tickets. Reps will be paid a 20% commission. Apparently it's going to be an area by area, person to person sales effort. Interesting to see how much it actually increases sales

Louisiana Tech Athletics would like to welcome alumni, fans, and members of the community to sign up to be outside season tickets sales representatives.

Our goal is to hire outside sales representatives to sell season tickets in one of twenty selected zones, and we plan to pay each representative a fee based on number of season tickets sold.

Sales representative will receive a 20% commission on every season ticket sold.

We did this a couple of years ago. We got prizes and were recognized on the field during a game. It was pretty fun, I think that I sold 27 season tickets... but it was done on a point system and you could also get points for a MGC donation. I went for quantity and pushed the Family Fun Pack :)

Unfortunately I came in 2nd or 3rd because some banker in Denton cheated... he gave away season tickets to new account holders or something. Jerk, lol.

They run an ad at the bottom of the Record-Chronicle most days. But it's one of those "hiding in plain sight" things.

I hate bringing up "old days" things, but a former coach loaded up his players and drove them around town handing out posters asking people to come to the games. The players wore their game jerseys and must have made an impact. There was a "tote board" of givers in the lobby of the old First State Bank keeping count of the top givers. They were called the Mean Green 100 and each had to give $1,000 to Athletics. The '100 got a green blazer to wear at the games and other NT events. You knew these were the people that made the program tick. I wasn't a '100 member, but I knew who those guys were. Very impressive.
