For anyone who's been to Boise, possibly FFR, do they have portable type stands that are moved in onto the track for their end-zone seating ? As long as we have Fouts, wondering if this could possibly be a way to get end-zone seating into the same zip code as the field. Seems to work at Boise.

Interestingly enough those endzone seats would be closer to the action than the 50yd line seats!

But it looks like there are no endzone seats whatsoever in Boise.

It also looks like that track goes around the backside of the stands.

Nice photos. I always thought that was nice looking stadium when I saw it on tv, but I never realized it had a track around the field. Talk about bad seats though, how about sitting on the end section of that small section on the bottom right?

Boise's satdium looks a lot like Kyle Field. Even down to the postage stamp size seating area for the visitors. Add about 20,000 to each end zone, and you'd think you were in College Station.

If they lowered the field, took out the track, and built seats down to it, that would be an awesome stadium. Its pretty good already, just a little disproportional.

Given that it sits next to a river, I'd bet they would have water table issues.

It has orange seats to appear full on television, what a concept.

We at UNT should know plenty about stadiums with orange seats.

On another note, seeing a stadium full of people makes me wish football season started this weekend.

upon further review, it seems people actually attend the games, now there is a novel idea.

I've never been to Boise. I was going once though. The last time I was going to attempt to go was for the '94 playoff game. However, we were going to have to take a flight to Oregon then rent a car and drive 9 hours so that ended that. We lost that game when a one-armed DB intercepted a pass on our end of the field. It dosn't get any more "Typical North Texas" than that.

Could UNT use the Boise concept and place end-zone "stands" on the track much closer to the field ? Would it be of any benefit ?

I go you one better than that. Could we not have bleachers on the sidelines on the track? I don't care if they are bleachers. When they are full, it won't matter...all looks the same. I think it should be done if nothing else but to get a few thousand fans close to the action where they could actually make some noise and create more of a homefield advantage as opposed to the sound just ending up in Sanger or some place. You could even fix it to where it is actually called the "rowdy zone" in which only those fans who were going to yell like maniacs were invited to sit there.

How about we just build a new stadium?

Great idea, but until that really happens..............1. Would we benefit by following the Boise concept and placing stands on the track to bring end-zone seating much closer to the field ?

No. The only reason Boise St. does this is they don't have end zone seating in the stadium, and their success demanded more seats.

Exactly, it's not as if people don't sit in the endzone stands because they are too far away from the action. People don't sit there because there are plenty of seats available in the sideline sections of stands. When we fill up the endzone sections every game for a season, then we can talk about the need to make modifications to how they are angled and where they are located.
