According to Google Maps, that would be a 7 hr and 43 min trip from my house in the 76179 zip code area. Does anyone know what time the game is supposed to start?

No way! According to MapQuest- Estimated Time: 4.0 hours 36 minutes Estimated Distance: 279.98 miles

See you in Houston!

Have you considered that we may get the same bus driver that we had for the ride to Norman last year. DallasGreen is right about the timing aspect, because that bus driver would have to leave tomorrow to be in Houston by mid September.

unt fans traveling to rice will depend on record at time of event. 0-3 = 1500, 1-2 = 2500, 2-1 = 4000, 3-0 = 9000 + ESPN.

I disagree. If the results went Kstate-L, Tulsa-W, LSU-L I think we could take about 3000.

Not sure what our record will be by the 27th, but I already have my 10 tickets ordered.

I read on Rice's web site that parking around the stadium is free. Considering Rice only averaged an attendance a little over 14k last year, it shouldn't be to crowded.

If UNT is 0-3------ 1,500 traveling to RICE after an open date is a VERY generous projection.

call me crazy but I don't think attendance will be related to the record at all. I'd guess most people that will be traveling to Houston will be doing so to see UNT play and to visit friends and family who already reside there.

And quite honestly, I fully anticipate being 0-3 when we travel down to play Rice and 1-3 when we head on to our next game.

gagreed. we will probably be 0-3 and that's not going to change the attendance. those that will travel to the rice game will already have made plans before the season even starts.

no, winning increases attendance especially for road games and losing will keep some that bought tickets in advance home.

We've been planning on attending the Rice game since the day it was announced. Four of us will be going. I hope it is later than 4 pm since I don't want to die of heat stroke. Anybody heard about an NT hotel? We're planning on starying at the Renaissance. It's about 3 miles away from the campus.

There needs to be more marketing behind it. When I was a student I knew lots of people who wanted to travel to away games but felt like they were the only individual willing to go. If they could have only been brought together. However with the exes being right there on campus why not put ads in the DC or UNT daily. Also lets face it for those of you who do travel to away games know that most of the crowd is made up of unt player friends and family. Players should hand out extra tickets in class. Tell classmates to get on the bus!!!
