:censored::bangin: I know, I know it's a realignment post. :wub:

Post in response to rising fuel cost & effect on travel budgets.

It took a while, but I finally fixed college football. No need to thank me.

I rearranged the conferences so that the geography somewhat made sense. 120 Division 1-A schools are spread among 10 conferences. In most cases, teams could take buses to more than half their conference games.

At the end of the season, we'd take the 10 conference champions as automatic qualifiers for a playoff, with 22 at-large bids. The playoffs would have 5 rounds with a REAL national champion.

That would definately constitute a "Pipe Dream" for some.

That's way too many. 10 conference champs and 6 at-large bids, 4 round playoff.

Let's just buld an NCAA D1-A football stadium, fill it and call our own shots! Right? :blink::)

Damn, if this economy is working against the above mentioned goal, but hopefully it will also turn around and we will still get the right stadium for a school projected to be #2 in size only behind UT in the future. Hopeully, our present UNT administrative staff will leave behind a stadium as one of their legacies with that thought in mind.

GMG!
