On this June Saturday afternoon, the weather is hot — 102 degrees — and Cárdenas is not getting a chance to cool off in the air conditioned office. There is a non-ending line of cars, trucks and SUVs that need to be gassed up.

Wow. the gas is cheaper AND they still do full service!

Check the oil and tires while you're at it, Pedro!

You're right. I assumed that a Mexican would be pumping gas in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico. It was completely insensitive of me, and I apologize... if anyone was offended.

If there were more than 5 Hispanics on the site you had to look in the virtual (brown) eye, I wonder how flippant you'd be.

This entrenchment with racism underneath would be funny if it was actually meant to be. I'm not one of the bleeding heart liberals that usually are the only ones that counter you guys, but I really don't see how either side can take an extreme position on this crap and feel good about it. I like all you guys personally, but this section of the board has been like a nice window into the worst ideas of liberals and conservatives alike.

I almost forgot, fluffy kitten joke.

If you want to see the truly worst idea of a conservative...

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio (AP) - A public school teacher preached his Christian beliefs despite complaints by other teachers and administrators and used a device to burn the image of a cross on students' arms, according to a report by independent investigators. Mount Vernon Middle School teacher John Freshwater also taught creationism in his science class and was insubordinate in failing to remove a Bible and other religious materials from his classroom, the report said.

School board members were scheduled to meet Friday afternoon to discuss the findings by consulting firm H.R. On Call Inc., hired by the district to investigate. The report was released Thursday.

The report comes one week after a family filed a federal lawsuit in Columbus against Freshwater and the school district, saying Freshwater burned a cross on their child's arm that remained for three or four weeks.

You know, I would rather just be given about 5 minutes alone with Mr. Freshwater and just forgo the lawsuit. Had that son of a bitch touched my kid with whatever he used I would have shoved it up his duncehat, of course, hopefully before they got the cuffs on me.

Damn, what's wrong with people?
