Dodge's Dogtown

I was fortunate enough to hear TD talk last night at Freshmen Orientation. He is drawing up plans for a student section similar to Pit Crew. This one will have better perks.

Supposedly all those students that join will also get to hear from Dodge Wednesdays before home games where he will get a crowd together to talk with him.

I think this is a great idea. Anything to get butts in seats is fine by me.

didn't Urban Meyer do something like this at Utah? I remember watching a few Utah games on TV back then and the student section was about 99.5% in red and rowdy as hell. I would love to see something like that at NT.

It's a great idea... but is the name really going to be "Dogtown"? How does that reflect our traditions or mascot? Call it the Eagle Nest.

Or a more sophisticated version of the same name.....Aerie.

But yeah, I like the idea as well.

Would you really have wanted Dickey to talk to students? He would have talked them out of coming to the games. And last year Dodge was way too busy getting used to the college game to start this. Am I the only one that doesn't think that RV should have to think of every good idea? It should be a community effort by the whole staff, right?

Maybe the AD did think of the idea, better late than never.

Maybe they didn't want to step on those hard-working talons...

To clarify, I am referring to all student groups who have volunteered to solve this problem themselves. You can still flame me though.

I've been staying away from these for months, but LOL.

There is obviously a supernova of ingenuity blinding the other peons in the building.

Good idea but why does it take a head coach to come up with it. Seems that the AD should think of things like this- YEARS AGO! <_<

Maybe RV did and it was squashed by DD. This would have meant that he would have had to INTERRACT with the students! Surely you Jest!

"Dodge City"

western theme, cowboy lids, green UNT bandanas around their neck, flying the Green UNT flag.

A great idea, and who cares if the name has to change in a few years. This, evidently, is Dodge's idea.

The name escapes me, but didn't the Utah students incorporate Meyer's name into their section's title?

Ok maybe lame but it works for any coach and if not treated can last a long time ;)
