Whats the big deal? Soon they will all be replaced with software.

Jobs become obsolete all the time, they have forever. I haven't seen too many chimney sweeps, milkmen, ice wagon drivers, elevator operators, or projectionists around lately.

So your saying that you don't have a chimney, don't live in the inner city, never have been to a 5 star luxury highrise hotel or up to the suites in the AA Center in Dallas or have ventured upstairs to a Rave motion picture theater lately?

Ha! What I am saying is that technology has always pushed people out of jobs. When we as a society don't need that many wooden barrels anymore then coopers go out of work.

With the accelerating pace of technology that rate of change is going to also accelerated. One of these days it could be my job, and I better adapt or perish.

I wouldn't worry about your job, people have been afraid of fire pretty much since inception and I don't that changing.

The next step is outsourcing McDonalds food orders to India.

In my best Apu voice "I'm sorry, but we cannot allow you to eat the sacred cow. You may have the chicken nuggets with curry sauce instead."
