You know, if I ever decide to live in another country that doesn't speak my language, and I and my buddy decide to go swimming in a river there that is about the equivilant of one step above a cess pool in which you can't see or tell what anything is below 6 inches deep, I plan on making damn sure I can speak the native language or at least communicate to the level of beginners' Charades, so that when to my shock and dismay, I find out that my buddy can't swim when he dissappears behind me in waist deep water, that I can somewhat direct(or something better than mumbling and pointing)the countless hundreds of thousands of tax payers dollars worth of men and equipment who show up to risk their lives where to find him.

It never ceases to amaze me what is being allowed to continue here in the U.S.

We should outlaw rivers. They are clearly a threat to our way of life. Any word as to whether the man provoked the river or if the river was otherwise trained to take the lives of humans? :P

Are you calling for the elimination of rivers?

Bush did it. Bush changed the currents in that river.

I've heard bush is known to dam up all sorts of things

I think that is a call for the elimination of all standing water. I have heard that lakes, ponds, streams, and even swimming pools have victimized many other people. Don't make people learn how to swim, eliminate the need.

This is so true these days. Don't teach people what they should know, just go to the extreme and eliminate the other. We could give example after example on this in our society and the thread would never end.

Don't teach people not to eat McDonalds EVERY day, just sue McDonald's for the type of food they sell people.
