Title should have read: "Amazing Story Of Survival Coming Out Of L.A. Today".

Two women arrested for torture of 5 year old boy.

Waterboarding would be too kind for these two women. The local print media has been too concerned for the care and concern of foriegn militant prisoners the last two days to have had any room to report this story, but I may have missed it. Did anyone else see it in print today?

Oh come on we should sorry for these two women, since they were probably abused as children and society has not been nice enough to them. they always lost in games of dodgeball and inevitably were last picked for any games played.

Nothing worse could happen to these two dogs, then what they have done to this poor child, burn them at the stake for their lack of love.

I know everyone on this board wants the pit bull breed banned, but I believe I found a use for these animals.

These women should be placed in a cage with 5 hungry pit bulls for 30 minutes. If they escape the cage alive, then they should be submerged in a tanks of pirannas for 5 minutes. If they come out of the piranna tank alive, then a vat of acid for 20 minutes. That will take care of these poor excuses for humans and if it doesn't slit their throats slowly.

You have some serious unresolved issues you may want to talk through with somebody...I fear that the next article Rick posts will include the phrase: "We should've seen it coming, his posts just became more and more saddistic, but we never believed he was capable of such a thing."

An expected post by the bleeding heart left to jump on a poster that see's wrong in what happened, rather than a similar eye for an eye post for those who did this to a 5 year old child.

And an expected post from a man who clearly hasn't realized that society has progressed beyond the 12th century...and perhaps out in Weatherford it hasn't...its been a while since I've been out there.

I'm not going to get into some sort death penalty discussion...I'm against it...if you're for it and want to see these women put to death then so be it...but we have evolved as a society that we have specific efficient ways of carrying such a process out. You can't be outraged at what these women did and then turn around and propose a more heinous punishment...it doesn't accomplish anything short of some sort twisted revenge...and just the fact that GB was able to come up with and wish such an act on anyone makes him no better than these women.

I'm against the death penalty except when society does not have the means to secure and control the criminals responsible for the crime through punishment. I've been lucky enough to meet several anti-death penalty advocates and even innocent men and women placed on death row. I think there is a small place for it in extreme cases, but I think for the most part it is needless.

I expect no one to agree or disagree and I'll probably tire out on whatever white supremacist board is cited when this debate gets going, but just putting a position out there.

You are correct, it is called lethal injection and is a humane means of getting rid of animals such as this. It replaced the noose, the firing squad and the electric chair, which in my humble opinion, are also too humane for dealing with these "people."

You can't be outraged at what these women did and then turn around and propose a more heinous punishment

You don't have children, do you? Trust me, if someone did this to one of my boys, I would reinact the scene from "A Time To Kill," which, once again, is too humane a means of dealing with these "women."

CBL,

I to am against the death penalty, except for it in extreme cases. I believe this is a case that justifies death. The post was dripping with sarcasim, but I guess you missed it.

Have we evolved as a society? There are more killings in one month in this country than occurred in the lawless days of the wild, wild west in a year. I have no facts to back up this statement, but there were no Murder rates kept in the late 1800s, early 1900s.

And I am better than "THESE" women because a allow people their own opinions, even if they are WRONG (as yours are in this case), "THESE" women treated a human being worse than an animal and that is UNFORGIVEABLE in the eyes of my higher being, I don't know about yours.

And would that in some way bring your boy back? Would it make your greiving process easier? And if it did...would it sit well knowing that you essentially just put an arbitrary price on the life of your child? I just don't get the revenge mentality. I understand fully removing these people from the general population...and preferably in a dark cell where they see just enough sunlight everyday to avoid rickets...and their only source of "entertainment" are spiritual books so that there exists the possibility of mental rehabilitation...followed by the unset of crushing guilt for the crime they commited.

If your post was meant as only tongue in cheek...then my apologies for singling you out...but there are certainly others on this board who read that and decided to start pricing pits and piranha.

And I can't believe that once again I am having to explain this...but I am not defending these women or their actions...but somehow it continues to get twisted that if I am not for drawing and quartering them before using my witch doctor to shrink their heads so they fit comfortably on my skull necklace, that in someway I champion what they did

No, it wouldn't bring my boy(s) back, but since you are not a parent, you would not understand the emotional bond to your children. I believe certain crimes, this one would be at the top of the list, warrant the death penalty. I can't justify spending taxpayer money to let these people live out their existence anywhere. Maybe they should be beaten daily and have their genitals burned.

Nothing is unforgiveable, but these women seem to lack any measure of repentance (a prerequisite to forgiveness)--and even should they be forgiven, that does not exempt them from facing any consequences for their actions.

When it comes to the death penalty I can certainly see both sides of the coin and there is a lot of grey area. I did a huge paper on the Death Penalty in high school and by my research there was evidence that with a strict death penalty state, there is a deterrent in crime. At the same time, The numbers were not astronomically lower as one would expect. UNTLifer, I am not a parent but I completely understand where you are coming from. If someone did that to my child I would act like just about any pissed off and angry parent and I would want to take the same action.

Kinda like how the immigration argument gets twisted around to critcizing xenophobes and racists?

I only support the death penalty when DNA evidence links the accused to the crime. I understand the vengeance factor in the death penalty, and I think it is valid. I think there is no lower form of human depravity than the cowardly and despicable act of harming a child that has no means to defend itself.

That being said, I think life in prison is still a far worse punishment, especially for child abusers. Even in prison there's a social pecking order, and child rapists/murderers/abusers are at the bottom of that list.

Oh I totally agree with you there....the death penalty is the easy way out. To me life in prison is the worst.

Depending on your beliefs, I would think eternity in Hell might trump life in prison.

Personally I don't care what the cost of putting someone to death when it's the right thing to do. It's worth the cost, and better than justifying the cost of keeping them alive. They can't be rehabilitated and don't deserve to be and should not burdon the public for one ounce more of anything.
