The Gators could be the real deal this year. Urban Meyer has recruited very well.

The Gators have seven home games and only 4 road games, if you don't count the Florida-Georgia game. Two of those road games are at Vanderbilt and at Arkansas, but they do have to travel to Tallahassee and the House of Pain (Knoxville).

It's hard to fault the magazines for our position. Mags only consider last year's record, players lost, number of players returning, an occasional highly-touted transfers and head coaching changes. With all of those, we come off no better than last year. We probably got a little higher rating for recruits but they usually don't factor into this year's squad.

This year I'll pay little attention to where we are picked. Even with losing several all-conference players, I think that the addition of Coach DeLoach, Horton, Jenkins, Edwards, Hollivay, Adams, Knott, and Hill, as well as some good redshirts moving up, will at least double last year's wins. With a decent defense we would have won four games last year. Even injuries don't bother me that much because we are building depth. I think that we will do much better than any of the preseason polls.
