These are guys that we couldn't sign until November 2008. But, if you get guys that are ranked nationally in the top 150....that would be unbelievable. So, I'm sure they might be longshots...but at least we're in on them. We have a chance.

Here's the story from Brett Vito:

Nice find...and these would be some very nice signings. The only Sun Belt school to nab a top 150 player this class was FAU with Dago Pena...and I believe the only two the year prior were Magley and Pettigrew at WKU.

More on Mr. Buckner:

REGINALD BUCKNER is a shot blocking post player out of Manassas High School in scenic north Memphis. Buckner is anywhere from 6-6 to 6-8 depending on who you speak with or read from. Like most AK prospects, Reginald is an above average athlete. He combines that with his great length for productivity in the shot blocking sector. Buckner is a work in progress offensively and his improvement on that end of the court during the upcoming AAU season could make or break his recruitment. Right now, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Arizona and UTEP (whose staff includes Tony Barbee, Tony Madlock and Milt Wagner) are all sniffing around Manassas but it is unclear whether Buckner has a solid, written scholarship offer from the aforementioned schools. Buckner plays in the smallest classification (Class A) in Tennessee so the exposure isn't what it would be if he played at White Station or East. You could term him as a "sleeper" right now but all it takes this day in age is one standout performance on the AAU circuit to change that.

I don't know if Reginald's AAU team will be in Denton this July (for the Shootout)...but I bet Augustine's is.

According to scout.com.....Reggie Buckner hasn't been offered by any of the "big" schools yet (Arizona, Memphis, Kentucky, Tennessee). The highest profile school that has offered him is Mizzou. The rest are: SE Missouri State, UTEP, Bradley, Ga. State and MTSU. Scout doesn't list us in the mix for him...but Rivals does.
