Let me first set the stage to what I drove up on this beautiful afternoon in Northwest Arkansas:

1. There are no curbed medians on 95% of the roads here. There are either 3 or 5 lane roads. I've seen too many just drive down the middle lane (which I call the suicide lane) if traffic is backed up.

2. There are very few left turn only lights. 95% of all lights have a green arrow which then gives way to a solid green. I've seen several close calls where someone left turns in front of on-coming traffic.

3. There are a large number of people in this area that ride motorcycles. I hate the things cause they just make me nervous to be around. While many motorcycle drivers are overly cautious, not all are and those are the ones that really spook me.

This afternoon I drove up on an accident that had happened mere minutes before I came up to the intersection. 2 motorcycles and a minivan were involved in the accident. The minivan had extensive front end damage and it looked like a motorcycle driver had been thrown in to the minivan's windshield. 3 ambulances were called to the accident.

If I were a betting man, I'd wager that the minivan pulled in front of the 2 motorcycles without a protected left turn signal.

The wife saw a similar accident here in conway on Saturday, said it did not look good for the motorcycle driver.

Must be an Arkansas thing.

My wife and I were driving to OKC this weekend.. While driving on 35 through Denton, some young dude on a sports bike came flying up the interstate. I *KNEW* he didn't have time to pass in front of behind me, yep, he flew right BETWEEN the car to my left and me. I was looking in my rear view the whole time and had inadvertently drifted toward the center.. I came about an inch from clipping him..

That would have ruined my weekend and ended his life.
