Unt Offers Pair Of Blinn Players

Recommended Posts

Isn't this awfully early to be going after Juco players? Unless they are absolutely outstanding (and maybe these guys are), usually you go after the Jucos to fill in the holes you notice through the course of the regular season and after getting an idea of how the high school recruiting will turn out.

Are these guys that we are offering for the 2009 class OR are they guys who we're trying to sign, to be able to play this fall? Last year, way after signing date....we signed both Evyn Roman and Jacob Kaiser.

Anyone know?

Sean Warren is a talented Texas City h.s. player who signed with Blinn last year and played as a freshman. Since this is his sophomore year coming up. I assume the signing is for the 2009 class.

If you believe in them, then get on them early before the big boys and hope they'll honor your effort for being the first one. Doesn't always work, but there are still some who respect the first to believe and first to give a chance.

I would say that Sean Warren is a very solid player and probably got better while at Blinn. How would I know this? Well, I recruited Sean out of Texas High pretty hard, he even came to one of our mini camps. The only problem people had with him was that he was "undersized". I guess he got lost in the shuffle with the coaching change. Good kid and a great support system within his family if I remember correctly. I hope he finally get's a chance to play for the Mean Green.

Any good DT prospect is a preimum recruit, either from the HS ranks or

the JUCO system. Last year, all the good DT's were commited very early

in the recruiting competition. Looking at the current North Texas prospects,

the defensive side seems to be the focus, so I am very glad to see the

coaching staff targeting key defensive positions.

As far as making early offers, which now looks to be the recruiting avenue to

follow, does pay off in the long run for North Texas football. I believe Coach

Dodge and his staff have a recruiting game plan in place for the 2009 class,

and will be again, very successful!
