Well, it is a 12 game schedule, so therefore I believe it should be unacceptable for anyone at North Texas to schedule less than 6 at home. With the availability of 1AA teams to schedule, 7 home games should be the norm at least every other year.

WFAA reports that RV has stated NT will have 6 home games in 2009 ...the first time sine 1996, NT is working to finalize contract with Army and working to fill a final spot.

This is good news, but when will they actually announce the schedule? When complete, or next March? Suspense... :)

This is GREAT NEWS...let's go after Navy, Rice, Air Force...Tulane (how about a home and away with Tulane so we can make a road trip to Nerw Orleans? Think about it!). As I continue to say...good things are happening at UNT.... :)

Geoff, I think that you're going to defeat your purpose. We won't draw well playing 1-AA opponents (except maybe Texas State, SFA and/or Sam Houston State).

There will be times that if you want a team that will draw well at Fouts (or better yet the new stadium) then we will have to have an occasional 2 for 1 or 3 for 2 deal, which means that we might have to use a 1-AA to keep us at six. Even then, there will be an occasional 5-game home schedule as I see it.

I believe that every Sun Belt school should have as its scheduling target:

Home:

4 conference

1 I-A as part of a home/home

1 I-AA

Away:

4 conference

1 Big check game

1 I-A as part of a home/home

I guess no one believes my Baylor at UNT in 2009 statement?
