NT Compliance officer stated...NT applied for a waiver from the NCAA because former guard Rich Young had to travel home to Pennsylvania multiple times during the 2006-07 season while his mother was sick. NCAA denied this request.. if it had been approved it would have pushed NT BB well above the 925 mark with no ship lost. Young will graduate belated this summer which will help NT's score.

so let me get this straight leaving school to attend to a sick relative is not enough to get an appeal from the NCAA for academics, but being a drunk getting into fights will earn you an extra season of play.

Great precedent NCAA.

What a bunch of garbage...... Go to TY sports they have a well researched argument concerning this situation.

are the dick jokes well researched, too? I think that's why they get their readership.

not sure though. Ask RV.

Tasty - excellent blog on the whole IU/NT comparison.

Thanks.

For my next trick... I'm going to dumb things down significantly.

It should be a North Texas crowd pleaser.

Well, this whole loss of a BB ship was a real downer. I had been checking this board constantly in eager anticipation of our next signing. Hopefully we took care of all our roster needs for this upcoming year. I am very excited about 2008-2009 basketball season... now the long wait sets in.....

I believe I read somewhere JJ quoting he has filled his roster needs.

Can't find it while at work right now, so please disregard.

He did say that. However, I don't think that he'd say anything else otherwise at this point.
