I must say I love the fact that this board wants to get this on DD.

I have to disagree with you on that. I think some on this board are blaming Dickey. But, it seems to me, the high majority are miffed at the NCAA. I fall into that category.

I think this reeks of being more NCAA crapola....where standards are being applied on a subjective basis rather than an objective one.

I love the smelled of burning witch in the morning....

We we all know Ealey is not here anymore, but he withdrew and that means he is still in good standing.

So, withdrawing to enroll in the slammer...hmmm....now we know how UT, OU and the like, pass the APR!

There either has to be a mistake, or there is something we are missing on this whole thing, or it is not a fair process. There is no way this many of us could read all of this stuff with APR and all come the same conclusion. Has to be something we are either missing, or don't understand.

nobody seemed to answer the question of who's fault this was, new ocach, old coach, or bad luck?

Because no one really knows. I keep waiting for our AD to come on here and make a post to explain it to us. After all, this is all on his watch.

You're in for a long wait. Nothing goes wrong on RV's watch. He's perfect!

Your criticism and relentless RV bashing is really getting old. Do you always rally around the folks this well that we pay to keep our best interests in mind. Geezz...what did RV really ever do to you??

Congrats on the new turf. Since those APRs listed are a 4-5 year average...if you guys got a 1000 in b-ball this year....your previous years' scores must have been awful.

That's why I have a problem with this nonsense.

Previous coach (Evans) took a lot of risks with below average STUDENT-athletes. That, and he didn't really enforce the academic side of the business either. Current coach has put a lot more emphasis on academics and you see the proof in the 1000; and that included a couple of grey-shirts that were not fully qualified to begin with. Speaking of the previous coach, he has been "let go" by the school he left for (Univ. of SanFran). Suspect he took too many chances there as well; and that doesn't fly at the private institutions.

The question is asked by LoveMG regarding whose fault this is. Perhaps a better way to ask that question would be to ask who is in charge of the academic performance of our student athletes. When you go to the UNT Athletics web site and click on "Academics" you can find the name Cinnamon Sheffield at the top of the page showing staff members. Her name is followed by three other staff members. If we are holding people responsible for the failures of their teams on the fields and courts (and we are) perhaps RV needs to have a talk with her about the consequences of continued failure of our student athletes in the classroom. The success of our student athletes on the field or court will be short termed but their successes or failures in the classroom can be very far reaching.

Who knows who should sholder the blame, but I don't think Cinnamon Sheffield, no I do not know her, is the person to blame. Are the athletes being brought in, Fleming, TJ Raymond, etc..., by the coaching staff(s) really prepared academically for college? I can take my Nissan to the Mercedes mechanic everyday, but it will always stay a Nissan.
