Is the school planing on demolishing Fouts before, during, or soon after the contruction of the new stadium? I ask because I know that TXDOT was buying some of the land Fouts sits on for expansion of the highway and that would provide a little money for the construction of the new stadium. However, I'd assume we would have to build the new track stadium at Eagle Point before we could destroy Fouts because the track team would need somewhere to practice/compete. Is this going to slow down the process even more? I remember a thread discussing how economically feasible it would be to use the bleachers from Fouts somewhere else but I don't remember what was said. Could the metal bleachers be used for the track stadium?

From what I have been told, TXDot may be buying some of the land where Fouts sits but, if so, I don't think the land will be used for work critical to their process. The exit ramp for Avenue D is the focus of their work and both Fouts and Murchison are clear of any critical changes being done.

I was told the TXDOT expansion would only take maybe the outside parking spaces at Fouts by the service road, nothing close to the structure. Fouts land on the Masterplan eventually will be a new parking lot and core campus building areas. Also on the Masterplan is a planned new track facility at Eagle Point beyond the tennis courts. It is less expensive to build new metal bleachers than the cost to move old ones less salvage revenue.

Fixed.

Couple of thoughts....

1. I'm sure the new stadium will be substantially complete before the last game at Fouts.

2. Fouts cant hang around too long, because UNT plans to use the entire site for parking for the New Stadium on game days.

3. I would imagine that if schedules were getting tight with a conflict with track/field season, I would guess they would build the track and infield of the track stadium first. Then if push came to shove, they could even provide temporary bleachers. and construct permanent stands later.

FYI - Link to previous thread showing the site plan.

How about we keep Fouts around and have like the Homecoming game there every year? Just for old times sake.

Man I am already starting to miss Old Fouts, :( .

TXDOT thing was a recommendation for 2020, but late last summer TXDOT declared they were out of money or something like that it seems, did we have a company from Mexico bidding on our Texas highways to take over management.
