Thanks guys... for a minute I thought that there was mention that it could be 2013 before we'd have a stadium. :blink:

I predict that we will hear something specific about the stadium / hotel this calendar year, and that construction will begin by the end of 2009.

And I further predict that we will be pleased with the result, and that some other local schools wil be envious.

And, by the way, Fouts was built at a time when "if a little concrete is good, then a lot is better". It may be old, but it won't fall down.

Fouts was built in 1952 at a cost of $764,981, a large sum back then considering the Admin Bldg was built four years later for nearly the same amount. It was ahead of it's time as Fouts capacity at 20,000 was almost 5 times the size of NT's enrollment of 4,400 in 1952. That's like NT building a new stadium now the size of Michigan's at a cost over $100 million. Track and field was big at that time too as most colleges had dual track/football stadiums then.

Wow never thought of it in those terms. That is pretty amazing.
