Sun Belt: There are five games against I-AA opponents, with provisional member Western Kentucky playing two of those. There also are 26 games against "Big Six" members, the second-most of any league. Each Sun Belt team is playing at least two "Big Six" opponents; Middle Tennessee and Western Kentucky are playing four each, and Florida International, Florida Atlantic, Louisiana-Monroe and Troy are playing three each. Each of the league's nine members have just five home games, with FIU and Middle Tennessee the only league schools playing host to a "Big Six" member (USF is at FIU and Maryland is at MTSU).

Now it seems I have been hearing about some Sun Belt rule that no school in the Sun Belt will have consecutive seasons of less then 6 home games. I just don't see how thats going to work, because I can't remember when we had more than 5 home games, and I know we have never had more then 5 home games since we have been in the Belt. I guess it is better than 4 home games which seemed to be the case in the 90's.

Does this six game rule exist in the Belt? Or did I imagine it?

A rule does exist, part of the Sun Belt Chief Executive Officers Initiatives, passed unanimously in May 2007 that Sun Belt school must play a minimum of 11 home games over a two year period. I know that Middle Tennessee does have six home games in 2009, when in addition to the four conference home games, we host Memphis and Mississippi State.
