Yesterday Clemson coach, Oliver Purnell announced he is not interested in the LSU job. Travis Ford of UMass and Tony Bennett of Washington State announced they are not leaving their respective jobs.

The Daily Mississippian says Mike Brey of Notre Dame is the candidate favored by LSU officials. Andy Kennedy of Ole Miss is also mentioned as a possibility.

The Seattle Times reports that Stanford coach Trent Johnson has had preleminary talks with LSU.

The Baton Rouge Advocate says LSU associate athletic director Verge Ausberry indicated LSU will have conversations with LSU interim coach Butch Pierre and North Texas coach Johnny Jones, a former point guard and assistant coach at LSU from 1981-1997.

LSU is about to realize that their basketball program doesn't carry anywhere near the cred their football program does. They're going to have to money whip Johnson or Brey to get them out of their respective jobs.

I hate to say it...but its looking more and more likely that we'll be searching for a new coach by tax day.

Are you referring ot Knox and Johnson?

I don't know....JJ isn't even on the LSU radar on the board I've been lurking on the last couple of weeks. Then again they still haven't given up on VCU's Grant, and that ship left port awhile ago.
