WKU hires McDonald to replace Horn

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - Texas assistant coach Ken McDonald will take over as head coach at Western Kentucky.

McDonald replaces Darrin Horn, who left last week to become the head coach at South Carolina.

Athletic director Wood Selig confirmed the hire. McDonald will be formally introduced at a news conference Sunday afternoon.

McDonald spent the last four years at Texas under Rick Barnes. He previously worked as an assistant at Western Kentucky under Dennis Felton from 1998-2003, helping the Hilltoppers reach the NCAA tournament during his final three seasons with the program.

No joke. These guys should consider themselves lucky. I can't think of a single UT assistant coach who didn't pan out....... ;)

Lucky even more so they do not have wait 30 DAYS to make a hire.
