"Southern Miss announced a three-game football series with Nebraska 2012, 2013 and 2015. Golden Eagles to travel to Nebraska 2012 and 2015 and the Cornhuskers to Hattiesburg in 2013. … Other than Nebraska, the Golden Eagles have played host to Big 12 institution Oklahoma State, Illinois of the Big 10 Conference, California of the Pacific 10 Conference and North Carolina State of the Atlantic Coast Conference since the 2000 campaign. The Golden Eagles are also slated to play ACC member Virginia in 2009 and Big 12 school Kansas in 2010 at home. – BigGoldNation.com "

USM has also hosted Florida State and Texas A&M, all in a 33,000 seat stadium which will in the near future add 5,000 seats in renovation as well as suites, club seats and a new pressbox facility. Last season they sold 22,844 season tickets. Tickets for the USM spring game the evening of April 12 are $10.

BTW - UNT has hosted Florida State at Fouts before.....before they were known. <_<

That's true...but let's be honest in that a 33,000 stadium in a different state would be easier to host aTm in than a 33,000 stadium in Denton.

That's true in state teams have no reason to come here even with a new stadium. But we can try to draw other BCS teams that are looking for recruiting exposer in DFW.

True. A&M may play at USM but not Denton. Likewise, an Ole Miss may not play in Hattiesburg, because of protecting media and recruiting, but they may justify playing in Denton for the same reasons.

I think you miss the point....a&M will draw fewer fans in Southern miss than they would bring to in state NT....its closer.

Exactly. 33,000 seats in Denton would probably be filled by 18,000 or so maroon clad people. They wouldn't overrun a stadium in Hattiesburg the same way.
