I still think JJ to LSU is sort of a long shot, but definitely possible.

If he were to get that job......that would mean that one third of the SEC coaches....were head coaches in the Belt, before getting hired by a SEC school.

Right now, you have:

Pelphrey...from South Bama....to Arkansas.

Horn....from WKU to South Carolina.

Felton....from WKU to Georgia.

The Sun Belt.....the cradle of future SEC coaches.

The MAC used to be the cradle of Big 10 coaches - so who knows.

I think Travis Ford of UMass will be LSU's new coach. Hopefully LSU doesn't pull the trigger right away should the Minutemen win the NIT tonight though. Michigan sure didn't wait for WVU and Belein last year though.

Win the NIT - get a new job seems to be the new mantra.

Baton Rouge Advocate reporting now that head of the Parker Search Firm is adamant that neither Ford nor anyone else has been hired, and that the firm remains "in touch with a number of candidates from around the country." This is going to get done (or to that end) at the Final Four. Wonder if RV has a contingency list already.

Judging by the WBB coach search, what do you think?

An AD as savvy as RV probably has a short list for every coaching position laminated and carries it in his wallet. He probably updates it once a quarter.

Something I find interesting from the FWST article. Sean Sutton goes 39-29 in two seasons and gets fired/quits. The coach at Nebraska goes 37-27 in two seasons and gets a two year extension plus a 100K raise. Funny how college athletics work.

All about expectations, and the ones at Nebraska for basketball ain't what they are for football.
